In a huge marketing effort, Nike released a series of shoes that were endorsed by the legendary Michael Jordan (who wasn't so much of a legend back then!) -this had the desirable effect of turning the industry upside down. If you are an ardent lover of bright and dashing colors, then buying Nike shoes will be a refreshing retreat. Bold colors set the trend for the season, and Nike was calling the shots for what was fashionable - particularly after Jordan did especially well that year.

There is an exclusive line of Air Jordan shoes and Nike Dunks available for women too. The Womens Air Jordans usually feature combination of brighter colors and a softer look. The designs are loosely based on some variety of the regular Air Jordans. The Women's Nike Dunks are very popular too, and are again available in the low, high or medium varieties. To keep up with the resurgence of skateboarding (this is over a decade later, in the early 2000's) Nike introduced the Dunk SB, Nike Dunks for skateboarders.
