I have this yearly tradition going on. It is kind of an unusual prank, childish even, but it is all good harmless fun. This happens every Christmas where I pretend to be someone filthy rich. My nonsense tradition would begin something like this: I would dress in the finest clothes in my wardrobe, walk into a costume jewellery store, browse into the most expensive items and pretend to buy them. But my prank usually does not get any attention for I can't seem to pull the rich look off. I resolve that this year I will do better and plan the whole thing correctly.

I went to the Internet to research about costume jewellery at Eternalcollection Jewellery store. This is an online shop that specializes in selling exquisitely made jewelleries. I studied the proper names of the various accessories that women love to wear. It seems that my knowledge of necklace, earrings and bracelets are hopelessly lacking. I found out that there are also brooches, scarf rings, cuff links, hair clips, rings and that there are two kinds of earrings: pierce earrings and clip earrings. Who knew? I also tried to have some general knowledge about diamond carat and gold karat. The first one refers to the weight of diamond the second one refers to the purity of the gold's content in a substance the purest concentration of gold is called 24 karat.

I also took note of the names of some precious stones namely: diamond, ruby, emerald. Of course, I did not study for a geology exam, I only tried knowing enough to impress a sales clerk of a costume jewellery shop. I then employed the help of a close friend who happens to be rich and borrowed his clothes. ?What do you get out of this man? You are weird.? He would tell me, but he still went along the plan.

The big day arrived. I went inside the newest costume jewellery shop in the store and started browsing. ?What can I do for you sir?? ?How much does this diamond pendant cost?? I asked. He told me a ridiculous price?enough to feed two households. I managed to keep a poker face and said: ?Hmm, but I do not like the emerald cut of this diamond I would have preferred the rose cut. Do you have it in here?? As if on cue, my classmate came in ?Oh. Hello my friend, how are you? I was sure that it was you for I saw your Hummer parked outside the mall.? You could see the ears of the clerk tingling. ?Uh, sir we have this newly arrived costume jewellery made of emerald. You can see how exquisite it is.? ?I came here for diamonds not emeralds.? With that, the sales clerk almost stumbled collecting diamonds that might catch my interest. I began showing interest in purchasing three diamonds. The sales clerk seems to be mentally computing his commission when my friend interrupted me: ?But you already bought diamonds for your girlfriend last year. She will be bored by that.? ?Hmm, you are right. she has too many jewelleries anyway. Come help me pick a good book for her.? And without a backward glance, we exited the store barely containing our laughter.
