Obesity - Causes, Symptoms And Treatment
Vanya Hartwell
Most obese people have one thing in common ? for whatever reason, their minds are not adept at telling when their bodies are too full. There are many reasons for this, but the most important step in beating obesity is reducing the number of calories you ingest each day. When your body and your mind are not communicating, this can be a challenge.
Main Causes of Obesity
In poorer countries, where choice (and food) is limited, obesity is rarely a problem. As incomes improve, so do choice, and the demand for a more varied diet. If we take China as an example, the peasant farmers are giving up their subsistence lifestyle in droves and seeking better incomes in the cities. Along with the change in their financial position comes lifestyle change and as a result China is seeing a surge in obesity levels.
Poor dieting is one of the biggest causes of obesity. So many people out there eat food that is just terrible and has no nutritional value at all. We don't have to starve ourselves to stay skinny.
Some of the more common causes of obesity in children include poor diet - including unhealthy choices and portions that are too large - and a sedentary lifestyle that includes too little physical play or exercise. Unfortunately both of these lifestyle issues are a direct result of the modern society in which we live; a society in which children play computer games and watch television rather than play outside; and a society in which convenience foods have replaced natural foods.
An environment that promotes healthy weight is one that encourages eating nutritious foods in reasonable portions and regular physical activity. A healthy environment is important for all individuals to prevent and treat obesity and maintain weight loss.
Junk food: We are all busy, but this does not mean that we have to eat everything the fast food restaurants put before you. Burgers may look good, but they are fat too highly powered got your health.
Symptoms of Obesity
There are a number of factors that cause obesity. Some of which include a genetic predisposition, an underlying illness, eating disorders, medications, poor mental health, lack of sleep, etc. Obesity causes quite a lot of damage considering the number of related diseases that are brought on by this health condition. To make matters worse, obesity incidences has increased that it is now considered a global threat.
It is therefore a huge responsibility for parents to constantly monitor symptoms of child obesity, especially if their child is visibly overweight. Parents should never neglect to scrutinize the eating habits of their children. Early cure could prevent the child from developing other medical complications such as cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
Symptoms of obesity usually show up in the form of breathing trouble, excess accumulation of fat, insulin resistance, increase in size or number of fat cells, rise in blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and back pain.
Treatment of Obesity
However, if you keep a close eye over your diet and avoid eating junk food then this will be your first step towards controlling this problem. Avoid eating until you are really hungry. Eating only when you are truly hungry assist you in keeping your weight under control. Include variety of foods and vegetables in your diet. Fruits and vegetables provide you all the required vitamins and antioxidants required for fit body. It will save on calories as well. Actively engage in exercise and any activity or sports you like.
Getting an advised medical treatment for obesity is just as easy as obtaining your medical history, taking physical examinations, documenting your obesity case, monitoring the time pattern of its occurrence, tracing your eating and exercise habits, and asking important questions such as those regarding emotional stress, alcohol consumption and other ailment symptoms.
