We have been there. When we first started out living off grid we barely had enough money to build our house.
So how were we gonna afford to power our house?
We were speaking to our best friend Oscar Millman and he assured us that it was very simple to build yourself a aerogenerator. He said that there were plenty of plans
available online to download.
Big mistake!
We didn't understand any of the designs that we found online. It seemed that the author just wanted to prove to everyone else that he was the smartest person in
the world. We blew more than $100 on designs before decided to do a lot of research then build our own. It tooks us over 5 months of research
to get our wind generators working well, but in peak wind it generates well over 1200 watts.
We decided to put all the hard earned knowledge into easy to read plans so that even if you're not technically inclined you can still build your own wind
generator.
The Home made wind-mill Challenge
* the designs needs to be easy to follow and understand
* it has to generate over 1000 watts of electicity
* must cost less than $100 to build
* original blueprint for the homemade wind-mill
* uses exclusively readily accessible material
* must be easy to build and set up
* Tough enough to hold up to tough winds
* and it has to look great
We have presented these projects to Oscar and he said he wish that we'd shown him these plans before! He underwent the same problems that we had. he did not understand most of the plans that he came acrossed neither.
Our newly built aerogenerator now sits on top of the rebuilt TV tower spinning away producing power for our home. Mail us the pics from your finished project and we'll post them to our website!
We have had lots of entertainment building a wind generators and we want to share that fun with you. We could have dropped 1000s on a commercial wind generator but why?
And we give this promise to you: these designs do conform to the above-mentioned demands, and it will require some work from you.
