Don't Let Headaches RuinYour Relationship
Cecill Artates
Ecstasy and pain is a very bad combination. Imagine yourself in the middle of pure joy and pleasure when suddenly, your head throbs like Adonis being finally toppled over by big rocks. It may be embarrassing but nature has its own concept of fun sometimes. It's a given fact that headaches can attack people in several ways but when it mingles with you and your partner between the sheets, pure joy can turn to pure frustration and excruciating pain. Relationships even turn sour because of this pain.
Throbbing heads during intercourse is more common in men than in women. According to a neurological journal, it usually affects mostly men between the age of 20 to 40 and occurs mostly in men during orgasm, and in women during masturbation. It is also common to people who often suffer from tension headaches and migraines. This type of headache manifests in three ways:
as a very sudden and severe headache during orgasm
as a dull and tight feeling the back of their head
as a migraine attack after intercourse
There are also some reasons why headaches occur during intercourse which may include blood vessels that constrict in the are surrounding the brain and muscle contraction in the neck. The pain increases with sexual excitement and usually lasts for a few minutes. Those who experience this type of pain are advised to consult their doctor to make sure that it is not a sign of any serious condition. They may also find relief in doing the following tips:
Relax your neck. Headaches are often caused by strained muscles.
Control your excitement. Gradually increasing your excitement and controlling sudden urges may lessen the risk of the blood vessels to suddenly constrict.
Find a comfortable position. This will help the muscles to relax and not to tighten.
Rest first. Stress and tired conditions can contribute to frustration and pain. Try to have enough sleep and rest before any strenuous activity.
Exercise. Getting more fit can help balance the hormones and reduce high blood pressure.
Eat healthy. Include nutritious foods in your diet such as milk, eggs, nuts, beans, fruits, and fish.
Take a multivitamin. This will also balance the chemicals and hormones and can also prevent pre-menstrual syndrome or PMS in women.
Don't drink alcoholic beverages. Avoid alcohol intake that can cause toxic effects to the body.
Spend time with your partner. A busy schedule can stress us out. It may be difficult to find time with your partner but enjoying a moment together can relieve you of a lot of tensions.
When suffering from a painful and throbbing head during sexual intercourse, taking medications may also be a good option. People may either take over-the-counter or prescription pain killers for a faster relief. Your doctor may also prescribe you to take drugs like Fioricet, depending on the type and severity of the pain. Fioricet is a pain killer which combines butalbital, acetaminophen, and caffeine. If you've consulted your doctor and you have a prescription for this drug, you can try online pharmacies to find affordable Fioricet for headaches.
Nurturing an active sexual relationship is part of romance and pain should never stop you from enjoying a fruitful and happy relationship with your partner. Don't hesitate to talk to your partner and to your doctor to discuss ways to solve the problem. There are better things that should take up your time than a throbbing head.
