All of us have seen or used Google Adsense in the past. The idea is if you have a website with heavy traffic and you put ads on your site for Google, you will make a lot of money if people click on these ads.

This simple and elusive wealth building strategy has caused website owners and webmasters to lose a lot of money through the purchase of software and scripts that consistently billed themselves as the next best way to increase one's Google Adsense profit.

Google Adsense does not pay much per click. I have a friend who has a site that gets thousands of visitors per day and in the past has used Google Adsense. As a result, he was making about $1000 a month. That is about $12000 per year. That sounds like a good deal, right? Wrong.

Think about it. On his own website, he allowed Google to advertise products or services that are similar to what his website offers. As a result, the potential of losing visitors to other sites is obviously high. It does not make much marketing sense to allow your visitors to leave your site by clicking on an ad that advertises similar products or related services of a potential competitor.

I understand that no one wants to loose the money that Google is paying. My advice is to do viral websites. Let me explain.

Let's say that you have a website that sells women's clothes and that is generating a lot of traffic. Since there are many companies that will advertise on websites that have traffic, sell links or other types of advertisement to them on the site to generate profit. Next, create a website that sells related products that you think your visitors may be interested in (like shoes for example). Then, instead of using Google Adsense, Use that space on your existing website to advertise your new website. As you get visitors on your new website do the same thing again and so on.

The advantages are twofold. First, you stop promoting your competitors? sites and second, you promote your own website guaranteeing a new stream of income.
