After Jonathan's post above, Eric change that grouping were getting the wrong intent about his thoughts on set stylesheets, so he cleared things up on his site. He never intended set stylesheets to embellish a "be-all, end-all" resolution to cross-browser compatibility, and in fact, wants and actively encourages users you verify his set and modify to sound their tastes, or even not to ingest it at every if they don't poverty to.

Jens Meiert (grouped in "those who dislike it") states pretty strongly Why Reset Style Sheets are Bad. Jens says that "novices should not ingest them, [and] experts would not ingest them," then goes on to itemize the reasons why (load instance increases and availableness concerns, among others) and lists alternatives to resetting.

What do I think?

When it comes to resetting in my web design, I fall somewhere between "don't ingest it but crapper wager its usefulness" and "use it if the employ calls for it." When I've played with it for my possess topical pet projects, I found it adding instance to the send that I could hit avoided. I crapper see, though, that if I spent whatever more instance with it and prefabricated my possess tweaks, which is what Eric intended with the intent of a set artefact anyway, it strength pace up my impact in the future and help my designs. For right now, though, for anything serious, I won't ingest it, but I'll still recommend others provide it a shot.

It's a tool.

Everyone has their possess method of artful and they hit their possess tools.
