Christina Applegate will play a hot mom in the new comedy The Rocker, starring opposite Rainn Wilson. Rainn Wilson, who has starred in The Office and Juno, is Robert Fishman (AKA Fish). Fish is living out his dream of being a rock n roll star after being kicked out of a 80s rock band. Twenty years later, he joins his nephews rock band and undergoes a mid life crisis of sorts. Before this time, he had spent 20 years working in an office living a fairly hum drum life and dreaming about the star he could have been. Christina Applegate plays Fishs love interest in The Rocker, and many fans are happy to claim that Christina Applegate looks as good as she ever has.

THE ROCKER on DVD shows that Fish comes to join his nephews rock band because the local high school is having a prom, and the band is up to play for the night. They are in desperate need of a new drummer, so Fish steps up and fills in. He is reluctant at first, but soon finds that he has picked up right where he left off, and he and the band become famous. Fox Atomic is releasing the movie on Blu Ray and DVD on January 27. Shawn Levy and Tom McNulty have produced The Rocker, with Peter Cattaneo directing.

Christina Applegate in The Rocker plays not only Wilsons love interest but also the mother of the young bands lead guitarist. Other supporting actors include Emma Stone, Teddy Geiger, Jason Sudeikis, Demetri Martin, Jane Lynch, and Jeff Garlin. Not only that, but Wallace Wolodarsky from The Simpsons and Maya Forbes from The Larry Sanders Show have taken on a lot of the writing and re writing. Ryan Jaffe is the original writer of the funny script. Production with Christina Applegate in The Rocker began last June in Toronto, Canada.

Seeing Christina Applegate in The Rocker marks a career revival of sorts for her. Her acting career was revived after she had won a Tony Award nomination for her performance in Sweet Charity, in which many fans claim she did an incredible job. Before that, and since the end of the hit comedy Married..with Children not much had been heard from her, except for some small roles here and there through the years. The performance of Christina Applegate in The Rocker marks her first role on the big screen since her roles in Surviving Christmas and Anchorman back in 2004.
