So here are my and also of some of the geeks in my office.
reasons,
1. Can Injure you- Ouch!
2. Can make you really lose weight -Body Mass Index
3. Stops you from doing other constructive things- This is with reference to watching sports.
4. Creates competitiveness between siblings, between relatives, between states, between countries. Man Kind is one, ya right with sports, you can say bye bye to that.
5. Too much money wasted- Seen the fireworks they have made for every Olympic Games, or other such events? Could have gone to some undeveloped starving country.
6. Promotes Cheating and Violence- Diving in Soccer. Then-Wrestling, Rugby
7. Creation of Unhealthy Role Models- I want to be like him Yeah, I'll just go around playing and not really study.
8. Rifts within the family- You can't watch the game John, But I have to Mom!
9. Loss of Wealth- Betting, Betting, and Betting!
10. Too much wealth involved- Money is the root of all evil.
11. Can raise Color Problems and Caste Problems.
12. Can result in Violence- Gun Shots, Effigies Burnt, Gulp!
13. Too many ads- The more players the more ads.
14. It can depress you- Any doubts?
15. It can even lead to drug addiction- There are so many guys and girls who take drugs because they want to perform better.
16. It can affect your daily routines, again from the watching perspective.
17. If you're a player, then you'll will have to be away from your family.
18. You will be scrutinized like hell, even though you know that you're playing your heart out.
19` You can get fired from your job, because you gave too much attention towards a game.
20. You have to purchase all those sports kits for your son, who most probably will use it for some time and then later completely about it and go join a band.
So these were twenty reasons that I got when I looked at it from the other angle.
There is one thing about Sports though, no one can ignore Sports, and that remains its greatest power.
