I don't know about you, but every time I hear about some marketing guru who claims to make enough from one mailing to buy a fancy sports car, I get a little skeptical.

It's really silly when you think about it. It absolutely sounds too good to be true. And for most people, it is too good to be true. However, there is a secret weapon that those guys do not tell you about. If you had it, you could replicate their results without even breaking a sweat.

There's a huge difference between a mailing list and a buyer list. Not the same thing, and that's the secret.

Most people think that a big mailing list is the secret to creating wealth. It really isn't. What really counts is the quality of the people on your list, whether they respond or not to your mailing.

It does not matter if you have a million people on your list. If they are not buying, it's a total waste of your resources -- your time, your money, and your bandwidth.

The real secret is not really a secret at all. Your list has to contain peole who want to buy from you, period. It's not complicated or complex at all.

Knowing how to build a quality list of buyers instead of just subscribers is the one thing that prevents most people from reaching their profit goal. You can have an enormous list but still not get the results you're looking for. It is estimated that only 1-2% of the subscribers respond to your email.

If your list is really huge, a 1-2% response really isn't bad. But if you only have a list of 2,000 or so, and you only had a response of 1-2%, that would be dismal. But it becomes worthwhile if you can get at least 10% of them to buy from you.

The question is: Would you rather have a list of 25,000 people and hope that 1% buy from you, or would you rather have a list of 2,500 people who buy like crazy from you every time you send them an email?

Getting 2,500 buyers is actually easier than building up a massive list of subscribers. And to tell the truth, most people with massive lists don't even get a 1-2% response when they email. It's more like 0.05% which means you'd have to kill yourself to build a list of 500,000 people to get those 250 sales. No, thanks, not interested.
