Asbestos is a group of naturally occurring minerals that have been used to produce certain things. It is chiefly used for materials that are employed to construct brakes for cars, materials for building, and to assist to battle against corrosion and heat. This group includes; amosite, chrysotile, anthophyllite asbestos, tremolite asbestos, and actinolite asbestos. One or all of these have been changed in a chemical way before being utilized.

Researchers think that they may be serious to anybody who works with or around them because the fibers from the asbestos are able to be inhaled. This may induce diseases of the lungs and other primary organs. Unluckily these critical diseases do not always appear until much later in life from when the people were exposed.

In some people it is able to cause scar tissue to back up in their lungs and make it challenging and almost impossible for them to breathe. The fibers that are able to induce these problems are too small for people to observe them without the help microscopes.

Who is at risk? Individuals who smoke are at an increased risk of acquiring these diseases. Also individuals who work un big industries and build things that are made up of products utilizing it are at a great risk. Construction workers may also be exposed to large amounts of the fibers through the building materials that they use every day.

Besides the lessening in lung cancer numerous health experts believe that asbestos is able to cause colon cancer. This is an on going study that has not been fully tested - but numerous believe that it can be induced from drinking tap water and insulation utilized in the home. Statistics show that 26 out of 2,500 textile workers that used asbestos products died from colon cancer.
