In terms of how to write the article itself, you have three different options, all of which have plus sides and negative sides to them- write it yourself, employ a company/ghostwiter and get them to do it for you or simply lift another piece and make adjustments.
Firstly, write it yourself, on the plus side it should mean that you have an original and, hopefully, popular article that others like and repost up, this will then lead to increased backlinks, the downside to this is that writing a relevant or popular piece can prove to be difficult and also time consuming. It can take time to research a topic and make it interesting for others to read, but having your now, original article is crucial for getting noticed and published on other sites which, at the end of the day, is the point after all!
The second method available is hiring or paying someone to write an article for you, this will depend on your budget and and general time constraints. There is also the issue of who to hire as sorting out the wheat from the chaff can be very difficult. In broad terms though, what you pay for is what you get. Scouring through the internet comes up with hundreds of offers from companies and individuals offering to write articles for a fee, but a word of warning, be wary of cheap offers. Often what you'll find is that they simply copy and paste various other articles together, or even just lift articles from other sites, maybe, at best thesaurising them. So all you end out with is a badly written, unoriginal piece that you paid out good money for!
Which, neatly, comes to the third, and final method available, that is to lift another article and change a few words and structural layout. This may sound like a great idea, reduces work time, doesn't cost anything, means you don't have to work to hard..but , without a doubt, DON'T DO THIS. Not only is it plagerism, no one likes a cheat, buts also highly dubious, most article sites will cotton on to this and the article itself wont be published or even worse, you'll end out barred completely. Its also means that any articles that do slip through the net and are published will be of low value as, essentially, it has been published before, and whats the point of a re-run.
At the end of the day the best method to you use is what ever suits you, if the budgets tight or you have a talent for writing its best to produce your own articles and post them up or, if you prefer pay someone with a reputable track record and have them write original articles for you, either way can prove to effective if done well when trying to promote an affiliate site. Just remember, never go for option number three of copying articles, it will almost never pay off and the risk just is not worth it.
