Antibiotics Resistance (Properly Use Of Drugs)
Richard Villalobos
It has been proved that bacteria and viruses are able to evolve according to the environment that surrounds them. The real problem is that people who have develop antibiotics resistant bacteria can transmit it to others making it harder for doctors to treat this new carries of the bacteria. Antibiotic resistance is inevitable, say scientists, but there are measures we can take to slow it.
“According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) statistics":
• Nearly 2 million patients in the United States get an infection in the hospital each year
• About 90,000 of those patients die each year as a result of their infection
• More than 70 percent of the bacteria that cause hospital-acquired infections are resistant to at least one of the antibiotics most commonly used to treat them
• People infected with antibiotic-resistant organisms are more likely to have longer hospital stays and require treatment with second- or third-choice medicines that may be less effective, more toxic, and more expensive
Using drugs more properly will slow this process and will help people with bacteria or virus infections to recover easily from them, that’s why you must follow the directions of your doctor exactly as given, and you must not take more or less than prescribed by your doctors, especially you must not keep taking it longer than prescribed: anyway antibiotics lose their effectiveness over time, making it harder to eliminate infection from the body.
Amoxil, Amoxicillin 500mg, zithromax and Tetracycline has proven to be the most effective antibiotics treating bacteria infections. Zithromax and amoxil have been really effective treating bacterial infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, skin infections, ear infections, and certain sexually transmitted diseases such as, gonorrhea.
For now the development of new and stronger antibiotics could be the answer, but we have to take in consideration how are we using antibiotics, their properly use can slow their evolving process.
