There is no doubt that the new flagship model of Nokia's Nseries, the N96, is a far improved version of its previous, yet amazing, predecessor, the N95. It indeed boasts far better capabilities, making it the ideal all in one mobile device. It is packed with heavy system and connectivity specifications, making it a dream for heavy business users. Yet, the phone also has amazing entertainment functions, which is ideal for the most demanding customers, or those who want to make sure they won't be bored even when stuck in the hardest places.

To begin with, the memory of the N96 is double the memory of the N95 8 GB memory. It has an onboard 16 GB memory and expandable to 48GB with a 32 GB micro SD card. This makes data management a lot easier. Aside from the memory, it has also upgraded to Symbian OS v9.3 S60 3.2 Edition and Java ME engine MIDP 2.1. System wise, this should be able to handle data with ease.

Connectivity wise, the N96 is Quad band GSM / GPRS / EDGE: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 capable, allowing connection from almost any cell cite, at almost any part of the world. It also now has Dual band UMTS / HSDPA (previous N95 only had a single band), enabling an even faster data downloading and transfer. This would be perfect with the phone's 3G and WLAN access, which allows fill HTML browsing and Upload to Flickr, Vox, Yahoo! and Google.

The camera of the new N96 is similar to the N95, having 5 mega pixel capabilities and Carl Zeiss Optics. The difference is with the flash. The new model now has dual LEDs compared to its predecessor's single LED. This enables better picture capability with respects to lighting.

With the entertainment side of the phone, Windows Media WMV9 video codec has now been added, enabling better media playing. Other improvements include longer battery life. The N96 would use the same kind of Lithium battery as the N95, but has an internal power optimization. This also has better gaming capabilities, as N-gage features have also been added.
