Why Waste Space?
Kaitlyn Miller
You have two sides to a business card. Why aren't you spending any of your time on the back of the card? After all, when you pay for business card printing you're getting both the front and the back of the card, so why wouldn't you want to take advantage of both to say as much as possible?
And really, there are other ways to add additional space to a card. Having a card that opens up immediately gives you more space to send your message, and isn't very hard to get printed.
But before going anymore into what you could have on your card, I'll go over why it's so important to have anything at all.
A really effective business card is meant to get your name close to a person. This isn't just about giving them your contact information either, but handing them something that will help them remember specifically who you are. If you aren't handing them anything unique than they certainly aren't going to be able to remember much about who you are.
Don't think that contact information alone will keep you in a person's mind. I have a whole slew of business cards from other people with all the needed information, but the cards are so bland I can't recall who the person actually is.
That's why the more you put on your card the more unique your card becomes, and the more likely people will be to remember who you are when they pick it back up. The more space you take advantage of the more personal your card can becomes. This might be about adding images in that will help people remember you, or having a company quote or slogan of some kind on your card.
You might find other kinds of details to add in that will make you distinctive from the rest. Whatever your company's core theme is you should be sure to have it on your card. I see plenty of cards that leave this important detail out.
Get as creative as you can with what you add to your card. You don't want your card to be incredibly stuffy, after all. Often it only takes the smallest tweaks to make your card distinctive and different from all the other cards people are handing out.
But something to remember too is that you don't want your card to look too crammed with information or images, which is why dividing these up between the front and the back is a good way to use your space.
Business card printing isn't just about the front of the card, so why would you only focus on the front? Remember too that everyone else is getting business cards, so if you want yours to stand out among this stiff competition, you need to have something wonderful, and something people won't be able to forget.
