Texas Hold 'em is probably the best known and most popular form of poker played today. In Texas Hold 'em, each player starts with two hole cards (cards that only the player can see). There are three rounds of community cards (cards that everyone will use). These are dealt face up, for every player to use, with betting after each round. The best 5-card hand using any combination of the five cards that everyone can use (community cards) and two hole cards (private cards that only the person playing knows) wins.

The three community cards are dealt out in a sequence. The first three cards are called the flop. After these are dealt, then everyone must bet or choose to fold. The dealer then puts out the fourth community card or "the turn". After this card has been dealt, there is another round of betting or again you may choose to fold if you think the cards being dealt are not to your advantage. The dealer then puts out the fifth community card called "the river". There is a final round of betting. After this round the computer will choose the winner, by pointing out who has the best hand,

Omaha High is another game that closely relates to Texas Hold 'em with one major difference. This time the dealer deals each player four hole cards in the hole instead of the two. At showdown, the best five-card hand using exactly two of your hole cards and three cards from the board wins.

Stud Hi (also called Seven-Card stud), was what everyone played until Texas Hold 'em came out. Those games would usually last all through the night. Many a fellow lost their entire fortune at this game. This game is part skill, part memory and, part strategy. It is a card game of great skill and luck. If the cards are not going your way, it is better to just leave and play some other time. In fact the famous 6666 Ranch was won in a game of poker. That is why they still call it the Four Sixes Ranch!
