So, you aren't the most outgoing person and as much as you would like to just walk across the room and tell the person that you're interested, that is just not who you are. No need to worry, sometimes the more passive approach is actually more appealing. You can stand across the room from someone at the club, at a party, or even at a friends house and flirt just as well as you can if you were face to face and letting the person know just how attractive you think they are.

It can start out simple, all you need to do is make sure that you have eye contact. When you notice that the hottie across the room is looking at you, look back. Hold this eye contact for about five seconds and then look away. Look away for about ten seconds and then look back again. If they are still looking at you this second time you know that you have their attention and you should repeat this process of taking little peaks from time to time.

After you just hold eye contact for a few seconds several times throughout the time you should then smile just a little bit when you make eye contact. They may or may not smile back during your short eye contact, but if you look back and they still catch your eye you are on the right track and you can assume that they are as interested in you as you are in them!

The next thing to do is touch your face or your neck or even your hair when you look at the person. We do not realize it, but we often do these things when we are attracted to someone and this is actually a very sub conscience way to let someone know you are interested. You may have to do this a couple times and you will want to make sure that you are being subtle about it. What you need to watch for is if they are mirroring your movements. When we are attracted to someone we tend to mirror their movements so if you see this you know that you are good to go!

If you get to this point you may begin to feel the confidence you need to go up to them and talk. If you do not, just keep taking those sneak peeks at them. If you do this, sooner or later they will come talk to you. Be prepared for the reality that the person that you are flirting with from across the room is as shy as you are though, in which case neither of you may work up the nerve to talk to the other. If you are worried that this is going to happen, write down your number on a piece of paper and slip it to them as you walk past or as you are leaving. This will put the ball squarely in their court and you will let them know that you are interested and hopefully they'll call!
