Most wind pants have zippers at the ankle that allows athletes to unzip the end of each leg to pull them up over their footwear. Some wind pants have zippers down the full length of the pants so that they can be unzipped entirely so the athlete can take them off easily when they wear shorts underneath.

Muscle pants closely resemble sweatpants and are also made out of cotton, buy only thinner. Muscle pants, unlike sweatpants, are characterized by their flamboyant and wild pattern designs. Muscle pants and sweatpants are used by body builders simply due to the fact that they accommodate their huge bulging muscles while working out. Sweatpants have become increasingly popular with males and females, even though they are not always complementary.
