Find Extra Cash In Your Purse Today
Leann Moyers
People are looking for a quick and easy way to save some money this week. One of the easiest ways to save is to simply quit spending as much. You can save money today by not taking as much money out of your wallet or charging your credit card. If you find yourself pulling out your wallet this week, implement a 24 hour delay. It is estimated that 25% of your spending is Impulse buying. If you still want an item 24 hours from now, then the purchase is not an impulse buy.
Start packing your lunch. You can save ten bucks a day if you start packing last nights left overs with you to work. It is just food. $50 per week equals $200 that you can pay on your bills at the end of the month if you dine in instead of out. Since you are saving money on dining out, you should try saving on all food purchases as well.
Cut your grocery spending. One way to shop smarter is to substitute generics for name brands when the generics are cheaper. You can also start using manufacturer coupons or store issued food coupons. This usually saves 20-35% on each item you redeem a coupon. You can also only buy sale priced items when you are at the store. Typically stores mark 50-75 products down each week to entice shoppers into the store. These items will yield a savings of 25%. You will have to refrain from impulse buying and stick to strict list in order to see your savings at the end of the month.
Start sharing expenses on discretionary items with a friend. Buying books, magazines and newspapers can get expensive. Sacrificing your entertainment may not be something you are ready to do right now. Sharing, is an easy way to stretch your dollars. Ask co-workers if they read the same authors and want to trade books, or work with a neighbor to get one newspaper instead of two.
Have you ever looked at your bank account at the end of a month and wondered where the money went? Well, an easy fix for this is keeping a receipt wallet. One place where every receipt is placed immediately after ocmpleting a purchase. By keeping track of every cent you spend you may feel less compelled to buy in the first place. This may also help you to recognize the largest categories of spending that may surprise you.
Once you have your budget set, and your savings goals in mind, all you need to do is select the method of savings you wish to implement to keep your daily spending under control.
