A Controlled Marketing Campaign Speaks To Your Audience's Needs
Brad Mcgovern
In affiliate marketing, you have products that are solutions to people's needs. You need to view your affiliate products as solutions so you can focus your marketing message appropriately. Potential customers for your affiliate products are looking for those who can provide answers to their concerns.
When you align your solutions with your target market's needs you connect with them on a personal level. You are no longer hyping a product, you are offering help in the form of a product. Think of how you make purchases. You tend to dismiss hype and ask what a product or service can do for you right now. You make your purchase based on the promise of immediate benefits.
This is how you should focus any marketing campaign promoting your affiliate product. There's a tendency with some affiliate marketers to conduct haphazard promotional campaigns. These are campaigns with no central message or theme. These are also campaigns that focus on getting from, not giving to a target audience.
When you conduct article writing and engage in article submissions, you are involving yourself in a certain form of marketing. You are getting your business message out to a niche market of your choosing. Controlling your message to them can mean the difference between securing long-term customers and losing their attention entirely.
With an article promotion campaign, your content must address topics related to your affiliate product. That's rule number one because you want there to be a natural progression by the reader from your article to your website where your product information rests. Potential customers want to see the connection between your article topic and your affiliate product information and visuals on your site.
However, they will only progress to your site if your content answers their questions. Let's say you market a vitamin supplement line of products. You engage in article marketing to pass on useful information to readers. You want to highlight your knowledge concerning the quality vitamin line you are selling. You want to build credibility with your reader so they link back to where your products sit waiting for them. Are you controlling your message to those you are targeting?
Those who do not take marketing seriously will have content that is vague, or too general concerning their affiliate topic. Take our vitamin example, is your message focused on why vitamin C is good for you? Does it explain what vitamin C is and how it absorbs into the body and what specific areas of the body it benefits? Do your articles explain why we often do not get enough vitamin C in over-processed foods and the effects of a lack of vitamin C?
On the other hand, do your articles just state that vitamin C is good and that people should buy supplements. People already know that, but they want to know more. They want details. They want to know how vitamin C will help them. If your target niche is joggers and competitive runners, you need to explain how vitamin C will benefit them in their athletic pursuits.
The key to controlling your message to your target audience is to understand the make up of that audience. You need to perform your own market analysis. Think of every benefit your affiliate product offers. Now, think of your niche market and think, and even consult with them, on what they want from a particular product. Ask some of your existing customers what feature of an affiliate product is most attractive to them and prompts them to buy.
Take this knowledge and let it be the basis for your article writing topics. Let this knowledge form the basis of your advertising and blog posts and such. In this way, all of your promotional messages, through different channels, are speaking about what people want to hear. They are answers to questions they already have in their minds concerning an affiliate product or related topic.
Be in control of what you say to your target audience. Know what they want to hear by analyzing their needs. Then focus your message to speak to those needs. When you control your marketing messages this way you are on the road to more affiliate product sales.
