As you may already know, whenever something gets wet, in this case we are talking about books and paper, they can get moldy. When a document gets moldy, this cannot be a pretty sight. I must say, after the evacuation was under way, the area looked deserted. I didn't have much room in my car, I only had room for my animals in my back seat and my clothes in the front seat. It is silly of me, but I forget about my birth certificate, social security card, old school yearbooks, and some of my other important documents.

When I returned back to my home, which was about a week later, I was very upset. Not only was my house under water but the documents that I have kept close to me for most of my life were ruined. I grieved for a couple of hours then started cleaning out the files because I knew they would start to mildew, in fact, they had already started to get mildewed. As I said, I wish I would have knew about the document drying process years ago.
