No parent wants to hear that their child has autism, but more and more are. Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disorder in America, with over 1 million Americans diagnosed, and one out of every 150 babies born in the U.S. being affected. The disorder impairs communication and social interaction in children before the age of three, and has no cure. However, a revised nutritional and supplementation regimen may be able to treat the disease.

Parents of autistic children often find that changing their child's diet and nutritional regimen will affect the severity of the autism symptoms. One diet that commonly produces positive effects is the gluten-free, casein-free (GFCF) diet, which limits the intake of wheat and milk food products.

It raises the hope that autism can be treated with proper nutrition, and that a cure for this "uncurable" disease is possible. With organizations like Generation Rescue and Global Health Trax continuing to encourage autism research and awareness, parents have good reason to believe a better life for their children is possible.
