With karaoke becoming one of the fastest new trends in amusement, it brings with it some new language. For example if you are the Emcee, then you can dub yourself as a KJ, meaning karaoke jockey. Know exactly what the dress code is for the event you are playing at. If its a wedding ceremony you actually dont want to be showing up in blue jeans. Dress accordingly. Get In early and set up your equipment, as its much simpler to set up with less people around, particularly where children are involved. All minors get excited about karaoke, and if they are all gathered by the time you get there, you will likely be swarmed in a good natured way.

Once all your karaoke machine and system equipment is completed and if the event does not start for sometime, check if you can block off your area. Individuals are fascinated with the karaoke apparatus, and you dont want your equipment touched. If manageable mix with the people a little bit.
