Ideas To Snack On While On A Diet
Ricardo D Argence
Most experts agree that snacking is a part of a balanced and healthy diet, as long as the snacks don't pile on empty calories. I myself was a dieter not too long ago. Of course, I exercised and changed my eating habits, but I had to find a way to enjoy the diet.
If you are finding that you feel hunger pangs on a continuous basis during your low-fat diet, you may not be eating enough. Eating too little will make you feel weak and faint and may even prevent you from losing weight.
Many dieters find that they have no trouble planning and eating sensible meals, but they falter when it comes to snacking. Potato chips, cookies and candy are easy targets for a hungry dieter because they require no preparation and can be eaten quickly before guilt has time to set in. A way to avoid breaking your diet with junk food is to keep it out of your house, or what's best, to keep a supply of healthy, diet-friendly snacks on hand.
Yes, it's true you can work healthy snacks into any diet. Not only will they help you feel satiated and therefore less likely to give in to cravings, they will also help keep your energy up. I am definitely a snacker and these are some of the foods that helped get me through it.
You can get quick energy from nuts which are high in protein, almonds are a good choice. Do not be scared to eat them because they contain more fat and calories. The advantages are real, and, as previously mentioned, all foods are acceptable on the diet if you are careful about quantity of portions.
When hunger hits, be sure to have already pre-sliced and portioned off fruits and vegetables and small bags so they are ready to be consumed. Do not procrastinate, you may run out of time later.
If you dislike milk you can try yogurt as a healthy alternative. Calcium, found in dairy products, has been shown in recent research that it may help in losing weight. A protein punch that will energize and satiate you can be found in a pack of yogurt.
One way to keep hunger at bay is to snack on 94% Fat Free Microwavable Popcorn.
Remember that fiber keeps you full, so look for snacks that are high in fiber, yet low in fat and calories. And never forget to drink a lot of water, if you're doing everything else right and still not seeing results, this might just be what's missing.
