Well quite simply article marketing is the process of writing articles and then submitting them to article directories. The aim is to get your website as much coverage as possible and if your article is accepted then this is a great way to do it.

1. Length and Content - It is a good idea to make sure your article is over 500 words. You also need to make sure it is not a self promotional article otherwise it will just be rejected.

2. Formatting - Remember to make sure your article does not contain grammatical errors as this can look really unprofessional and do more damage than good. Also remember to not include any HTML in the article as this could get your article rejected. Some do allow it but you are best to avoid using it to make your article acceptable by all the directories you submit to.

3. Include Keywords - It is a good idea to include your keywords in the title of your article. This will help to show to the search engines that the link to your website is relevant and backs up the other information you are giving out.

4. Use Anchor Text - As previously mentioned all article directories will allow you to place links in a resource box and the bottom of your article. The best thing about this is that you can put anything you want in this box. This means you can choose the anchor text for your website. Make sure you include the words or phrase that you are optimising your website for. If you submit your article to at least 100 article directories then you can see how the links to your website will increase quite quickly.
