Due out on July 11th is a mobile phone destined to be the shining light of O2's product range. But can it really be that good? C an the Apple iPhone 3G really beat all other mobile phones?
Apple iPhone 3G - just look at the features!
At the start of June, an announcement was made that made lovers of mobile phones and Apple lovers in particular, go gaga with excitement. It was nearly a year since the first iPhone was unveiled, and now, the newest iteration was let out of the bag. It's set to be released, on O2, on July 11th. But how does this new Apple iPhone 3G differ from other mobile phones? Well, first thing... it has an amazing 3.5 inch touchscreen, so that all the slick features and awesome functions are available, quite literally, at your fingertips. And you'll be flicking through menus with glee, very quickly, as the Apple iPhone 3G is the second device in the history of mobile phones to be built on top of the amazingly easy to use Apple OS-X. Only one other mobile phone came before it, and that was the first iPhone.
As you may know, there was a certain amount of criticism aimed at the first iPhone. Other mobile phones have more features, they said, other mobile phones are more powerful. And then, despite the beautiful interface, they were correct. Other mobile phones COULD outperform the iPhone, although, that's going to be a lot more difficult to do with the Apple iPhone 3G, arriving soon on O2. The big thing that the first iPhone didn't have was 3G, and that was where other, more well-known mobile phones won hands down. That's not an issue now, though, because the Apple iPhone 3G, as the name suggests, is now one of the mobile phones that DO have 3G. And crikey is it fast, as it uses HSDPA, letting you connect to the web at up to 3Mbps. As well as that, you have GPS, and we should all understand how useful and invaluable GPS is!
Apple iPhone 3G - have O2 got the best phone ever?
After the all the hype, is the Apple iPhone 3G really the new hope for mobile phones? Is it ACTUALLY that important? I say it is, but maybe not in the way you think...
You see, the is, similar to its forerunner, flawed. It's not all great, and whilst that can apply to most mobile phones, with the Apple iPhone 3G, it's being built up as the ultimate phone. However, if you choose just ONE feature, the camera, you'll see that in that specific field it's mediocre at best, and at worst, utter rubbish. In the current world of mobile phones with cameras built in, that's unforgivable. With that in mind, if it's not perfect, why is the Apple iPhone 3G so important? Simple, it's because the Apple iPhone 3G, arriving soon on , has provoked other mobile phones to improve their offerings. So, people like Nokia and Sony Ericsson are really fighting to make up ground, and take the fight to this usurper. That's why it's important: the Apple iPhone 3G is forcing people to make even more powerful mobile phones, and hey, that's got to be a good thing for us, hasn't it!
