Chicken coops are easy to build but some features may be too hard so farmers then look for chicken coops for sale to house their hens. Another reason to buy a chicken coop instead of making one yourself is that they are cheap. Just be careful and make certain the one you buy is of solid construction. Look at many different ones and pick the one that has the features you need and want.
One nice feature I have found was that most chicken coops have sliding roofs. This gains access to the inside easy for cleaning and catching the hens. The best time to catch the hens is at night when they are sleeping or dozing off. If a sliding roof is not to your liking then look for one that has the roof attached with hinges. This has all the same great advantages except that when closing you may let the roof come down to fast and the slam might wake up the other hens. Not to mention the one in your arms might jump out.
Another feature that is usual on chicken coops that are for sale is the automatic feeder. Some can hold up to 50 lbs of feed. It will still be essential to check the amount of feed daily but at least you know that the chickens are feed even when you are late in the morning.
The water dispenser is of the topmost importance. Make sure that the water container is easily accessible. The water dispenser should be above the average height of a chicken since this animal cannot swallow. Chickens let the water to drain down their throat. If the water dispenser is not correct, there may possibly be more wrong with that chicken coop so look at another.
Remember when searching at chicken coops for sale, look at more than one.
