No Nonsense Color Brochures
Maury Klein
An increasing number of color brochures these days are getting too fancy, exaggerated and ineffective. As people ?think? about getting flashier, greater and more unique in their designs, they squander their investment in brochure printing by thinking and imagining too much. Their normal product these days are the usual marketing color brochures that sounds too commercialized and untrustworthy for most people.
As my professional advice, you have to avoid sounding like this in your color brochures at all cost. Almost everyone today can spot an overrated brochure in moments, and most of them just throw those kinds of brochures away, not wanting to trust the overly flowery words that most of those contain. So, to help you out and prevent this from happening in your brochure, here are a few tips on how to make no nonsense color brochures that are effective, efficient, and very refreshing for most people.
? Print out the facts not exaggerations ? First and foremost, is your writing style. Far too many brochures out there are exaggerating too much about their topic. They use too many adjectives, and they are so hyped up with their topic that there is no objective point of view anywhere in them. This is where brochure printing fails, since people eventually will not trust something that overly believes in itself just to make a sale. The best way to approach this is to enter in facts and just the bare facts alone. Give people the necessary and true information that they need to judge the brochure's topic by themselves. This makes people trust the brochure better making it more effective.
? Don't use fancy designs unless it is warranted ? Also, since brochures are made for a quick and easy read, you don't have to go all out with its design unless it is part of the marketing strategy. You don't need those fancy metallic inks, or holograms or glow in the dark areas. You also usually won't need to print using fancy fonts and accents. Brochures are made for a quick digestion of information, and an overly fancy design may just derail this objective. So it is best to have a simple, functional but attractive design for your brochure.
? Keep the flow easy and organized ? Next, always remember to have a nice and simple coherent flow of ideas in your brochure. Do not beat around the bush and say what you mean to say in a logical argument. A lot of people linger on specific content of their brochures, sometimes ruining the whole flow of ideas in the process. This only confuses the reader, and basically wastes their time. It is usually good to have an outline of your brochure content first in this situation so that people can follow the flow of ideas in a better fashion. They will understand your brochures better and faster when you do this.
? Use simple folds ? Lastly, exciting as using different kinds of brochure fold may sound, it is actually a bad idea to do so. Unless done really on purpose to illustrate a concept, different and wild brochure folds, isn't really something that readers like. They don't want to be bothered trying to figure out how to unfold and then fold a complex brochure. Most are just comfortable with the simple tri-fold brochure which is easier to deal with and far more efficient in giving information. So use simple folds as much as possible, in this case simple is really better.
All in all, if you print color brochures in these ways, I would imagine that a lot of readers will notice the telltale difference. They will enjoy reading your brochures more, and they will get the information they want in the least amount of time. So if you want your brochures to be different and effective, try printing no nonsense color brochures. It might just be the unique strategy that you need. Good Luck.
