Anaesthetic gas scavenging systems were deemed necessary after a number of studies in the UK and the USA demonstrated that repeated exposure to small amounts of anaesthetic gases can adversely affect health. Areas of concern arising out of the study included the potential for reduced female reproductive health, increased cancer rates for females, adverse effects on liver and kidneys and a negative effect on audiovisual responses.

One of our anaesthetic medical systems is the AGSS transfer and receiving system, which has been designed to protect medical staff from the exhaled anaesthetic gases of patients. It has a number of useful features including reduced volume, easy cleaning and all-round flow indicator visibility. It has wall, rail or machine mounting options and is designed to be fully adjustable in height and direction.

We also manufacture a range of anaesthetic breathing circuits some of which have specifically designed anaesthetic gas scavenging features such as scavenging valves.
