For some of us cooking in our kitchen is more than just a necessity to feed our family a nutritious and delicious meal, it can also be one of our most enjoyable hobbies. If you have a hungry family to feed everyday you might as well learn to enjoy the process, right? This is what a lot of us have learned to do. It can be very challenging learning how to make sure the food we feed our family is good for them, but also finding recipes that everyone will eat and enjoy. We all know how tricky that can be when we have kids that are really picky about what they want to eat.
What can make the cooking at home job even harder though, is when we must work a part or full time job and then come home and get the cooking and cleaning done too. Many single parents know how difficult this can be. You might very well be on your last leg when you must go into your kitchen and pretend to be a chef that will satisfy everyone. The key to this is having some easy and fast recipes that will please every one and keeping the ingredients on hand. Nothing is more frustrating for a cook than to get in the middle of preparing something and discovering you have to run to the store to get a vital ingredient you are out of.
Distractions like that are many times what will cause a cook in the kitchen to allow something to catch on fire. You might not think it can happen to you, but it happens to even the most careful of cooks. You put a pan of grease on to heat and then a child might call you into another room or the phone or doorbell rings. IN just a couple of minute the pan can get too hot, bubble over and start a fire. You might even still be in the kitchen and catch a hand towel or potholder on fire because you left it too close to a stove eye.
If is vitally important that we do not ever leave cooking food unattended in the kitchen, especially things that are frying or boiling on top of the stove. Leaving something cooking in the oven on low is something most of will do, but we also need to check the oven frequently. Using care when cooking is a sure way to make sure your family is safe and well fed too.
