Quittingdrinking alcohol is never an easy task especially for those who have beendrinking for quite some time already. Quitting must not be abrupt, rather itshould be gradual. The best first step in quitting alcohol is to cut down onyour alcohol intake.
 
If you have beendrinking too much, you may already be addicted to alcohol. Alcohol is a veryaddictive substance. It attacks without warning. A glass of alcohol can lead toa lifetime of addiction. There are some easy ways to tell if you are alreadyaddicted to alcohol. First, if you drink when you feel a particular emotionlike anger, loneliness, sadness, or even extreme happiness. Second, if yourdrinking has become a problem in your personal, emotional and professionallife. Third, if you are urged to drink alcohol even before the hangover isgone.
 
So if thesesymptoms are evident on you, there is no doubt that you are already addicted toalcohol. The first step that you can do to be able to gradually quit drinkingis to cut down on your alcohol intake. Here are some helpful tips to help youcut down on alcohol intake:
 
?        You should set a goal. There must be a clear aimfor cutting down. The goal will serve as your motivation. Without motivation,it would be impossible to cut down on alcohol intake.

Once you havealready successfully cut down your alcohol intake, you can gradually quitalcohol. If you cut down by a bottle today, next month, cut down another twobottles until such time that you no longer drink alcohol. This is the easiestway to quit alcohol addiction without the pain of withdrawal symptoms. A lot oftimes, quitters get back to drinking because of the withdrawal symptoms. Sowithout them, quitting will be a whole lot easier.
