These devises were supplied free of charge by the companies that sold tobacco. These cutters were extremely popular between the 1800s and the 1940s, plus they came in a variety of styles and shapes.
Other antiques that individuals may find of interest include a variety of cheese cutters, irons, rolling pins, shoes, fishing rods, and other various items. Cheese cutters were built out of iron or wood and then at the base the blade would be turned up to where the blade could be brought down to make a clean cut. These were manufactured by a variety of scale companies, who also created a variety of different scales. Old counter scales can date back unto the early 1800s and could basically weigh anything from meat to produce to grain.
