In fact, spokeswoman Marie Reynolds said this week that the rising cost of fuelcan actually be combated by making your home more efficient.
"From switching off appliances and using energy saving light bulbs toupdating your home and insulating your loft, green measures can cut fuel bills considerably,"she said.
A recent survey from the Energy Savings Trust revealed that 53 per cent ofhomeowners said they would be willing to pay out more money to own a greenhome.
It was also shown that 66 per cent said more guidance was needed from estateagents on the issue when looking at potential property purchases.
