However, there are some instances that this kind of treatment for acne, often called "topical medicines", has side effects like dryness, redness, and irritation. So in this case, most of the experts just recommend a decrease in the frequency of the application. In terms of the moderate and severe acne, the most common type of treatment is antibiotics.
