Techniques For Hiding In The Game Of Paintball
Michael Usry
In the last few years the game of paintballing has grown exponentially. As more and more competitors start to play and compete in this energetic pastime, organized games and sequences become bigger and more complex. Experience counts for a lot in paintball, so if you are a novice competitor it would probably be in your best interest to play with other beginners. In more intense paintballing scenarios, experienced competitors will commonly form paintballing groups. Players can consider going into one of the more intense competitions when they have mastered some of the common strategies and techniques of paintball. Trial and error is the best way for participants and groups to develop the best techniques for themselves.
The average gun can shoot a paintball around 250-300 feet. Of course there are modified guns that have a way better range and accuracy, but these can get really pricey. It is more difficult for a player to make consistent shots because a paintball is not a solid projectile. It is crucial to move in as close as you can to a target without exposing yourself to get the best chance at eliminating another participant. The opposition will be forced to take cover out in the open if you fire at them and hold them down. This will make them unable to locate you as you move in on them. You may want to move to either side to change your angle as you move to their location. This will let you flank your opponent from the side. To keep from exposing yourself and effectively hit other competitors it is generally best to stay away from direct engagements.
Another essential aspect of paintball is taking cover and implementing the natural surroundings as a defense. Terrain is for both shelter and camouflage when playing in surroundings like the forests. Staying in a single spot for too long and endangering their position is a frequent mistake for a lot of amateur competitors. They may eliminate a couple of the opposite team but allow for the others to go around and flank them. To remain hidden as long as possible is a wise move as well as attempting to stay moving as much as possible. This will give a competitor the advantage of surprise. Nowadays, to give themselves an advantage on the playing field and in organized games, many people are buying gilly suits. When a player in a gilly suit is being still to blend in with their surroundings the suit's special properties make it very hard for other players to see them. Participants who prefer better mobility and field of vision by not wearing a ghillie suit may prefer a technique of dexterity and attack to make up for their disadvantage of being seen.
When attempting to take cover in the game of paintball, position is very important to consider for strategy. Standing will give a participant more mobility by letting them move quickly in scenarios where they have to. Kneeling or laying behind a big object like a stone or tree will give a player substantial camouflage, but will limit what they can see around them. This may allow for opposing participants to sneak up and gain the advantage with you. Bushes and high grass have some cover and some visibility, making them great locations for both surprise melees and defensive locations. If a player finds that he has to crawl between two objects to remain under cover the mobility and stealth goes down and they will discover that it is hard to escape quickly in this position.
