Discover Imperial - One Of Asia's Greatest Hotel
Shayne Alvares
Opened in 1931, the Imperial Hotel is not only one of Asia's greatest hotels but also the witness to the birth of the capital city of New Delhi. Its marvelous m'lange of Victorian, colonial and art deco styles stands out even after more than 7 decades and offers each guests the magic experience of capturing a piece of history. India's greatest personalities have walked the corridors of the hotel and shared most daring ideas over a cup of tea in its restaurant and lounges.
The Imperial Hotel is a unique blend of old and new, it successfully preserved its past aura not forgetting the comfort of modern amenities to provide its guest with lifetime memories. The spacious, high ceiling guest rooms, massive crystal chandeliers, sparkling marble floors, huge glossy mahogany tables, hotel personnel dressed in regal Indian garb not to mention the vast original 18th and 19th century art collection that adorns the corridors of the hotel are all a constant reminder of the elegance of the colonial era.
Situated on the famous Queens way nowadays known as Janpath, The Imperial Hotel is centrally located close to famous shopping district and all major tourist attractions and only 30 minutes away from the airport. In spite of its location, the hotel is known to be a true oasis for those who want to escape the hectic Delhi life.
A mixture of Victorian, colonial and art deco style, The Imperial hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in Delhi, with rooms and suites that are fit for royalty. The oppulence and luxury of a forgotten era are still vibrant at The Imperial. Whether it is the heavily ornate furnishings, the furniture carving in mahogany and oak, the marble tops and marbleized wood, the floors covered by elaborately patterned oriental rugs or long, thin forms, curving surfaces, and geometric patterning they are all reminders of a gracious living style.
The Imperial Hotel in Delhi prides itself in being more than just another deluxe hotel that impresses by state of the art facilities, its is proud to be a hotel that shines through its glorious past, character, elegance and the amazing world that it unveils to all its guests.
