Delhi Destination Of Hearts.
Tomas
It is often said that belongs to people who have a heart, and indeed it is true. For the travelers around the globe who come to visit India, it is the key destination not only because it is the capital of India but because the place has world famous land marks and mouth watering range of foods delicacies fond of human taste buds.
Delhi is divided into two sub cities one is New Delhi and the other is old Delhi. For tourist visiting Delhi at this juncture the cheapest means of transport is recently built metro which connects most of the Delhi, the charges are usually cheap and the journey is extremely comfortable  if compared to expensive taxies auto scooter and hectic blue line bus services.
Chandini chowk is one of the oldest markets alive in the city it is believed to be started during the Mughal period and is still operational spices flowers dry fruits and ingredients of house hold necessity are sold over here in whole sale, the place is most of the times jammed with merchants trading their goods to their customers. Apart from merchandise the place is also house to delicious local dishes like ?choley and bhaturey? ?jalebies? and ?gulab jamun?. The restaurants selling them may look suspicious for hygiene by many tourists but the tastes is unmatched and exclusive for your tongue only and believe me no body till date has suffered due to the dishes till date so relax and enjoy the desi taste.
For years Delhi had been the capital of Mughal emperors, who ruled India for over 200 years and hence, the city is well studded by their monuments and structures. The world famous Qutab Minar is one of them not to mention red fort built by Mughal emperor Akbar is also a frequently visited tourist hot spot, the architecture of Dewane Aam and Dewane Khass reminds us of a similar toned Mughal work man ship at Taj Mahal. Red fort still holds a symbolic importance for India and every year the republic day of the country is celebrated from it.
Qutab Minar is a seven storied tower out of which two were recently damaged by weather, Qutab Minar is said to be made by Qutaubbudin Aibak, the first slave king of India. . Placed beside the Qutab Minar is the iron pillar of Ashoka, engraved on it is the preaching's of Buddhist literature. Delhi also keeps time without the help of any kind of natural or unnatural energy at Jantar Mantar which is a huge sun dial and gives time according to the position of the sun.
Among political structures and monuments the prime ones are Raj Ghat, the monument dedicated to father of the nation Gandhi and Vijay Ghat dedicated to former prime minister and freedom fighter Shri Lalbhadur Shastri. The most important of all the monuments is India gate which is rededicated to that Unknown Soldier who gave his life for the motherland, as far as political structures are concerned Rashtrapati Bhawan and parliament house are exclusive buildings supporting pillars of Indian democracy.
Delhi leaves a never ending impression on the hearts and minds of anyone who it be it a tourist or a fourteenth century invader it has nourished all that have come into its bosom forever and forever.
