There is sometimes very little difference between someone who considers their lives to be boring, disappointing, frustrating or just plain awful - and someone who sees every day as a wondrous, exhilarating adventure, full of excitement, surprise and joy.

So how is it that people who have essentially the same lives see them so completely different? In the answer to this question lies the secret many people look for and never find. And all along it lies right in front of them,all-too-easy to see.

The answer is conscious choice.

Conscious choice is the ability to take control of the process of the mind - and use it like the tool it was meant to be.

If we can choose to be grateful instead of angry, we see wonderful things instead of things to hate, dislike, or other negative emotions.

If we can choose to be interested or excited instead of bored and apathetic, we learn the world is truly an amazing place to live.

And what happens as our consciousness becomes aware of these things?

We see more of the same! As we see more of the same - our senses become tuned to recognize this and we tend to not see the negative things.

So we percieve the world in a different way. That perception is then further strengthened by our actions (actions are thoughts placed into reality) which in turn produces more of the same!

All of this is dependant on how we think.

Personal development is the step by step process each of us takes to learn this simple formula. And yes, absolutely there are many steps to take. But that is the wonder of it all! There is no end to personal development, self actualization, self improvement, self growth or whatever name you call it.

As you read the books written by the people you might like to emulate, or who have the apparent powers to perform incredible feats or journeys - remember this: they are just like you - no more and no less.

We who live amazing lives understand it is a simple matter of believing our lives are amazing, always looking for the amazing things that happen, always grateful for the amazing people and things in our lives, and continually, consciously working on our personal development.
