Weeds

Indeed, a number of "weeds" have been used in gardens or other cultivated-plant settings. As you know, weeds can be native or alien invasive plants that harm agricultural, disturbed, and natural ecosystems.

Control

There are a lot of variables in the weed control equation and without detailed information it is difficult for us to provide satisfactory recommendations. Traditional methods of weed control, such as cultivation and the use of herbicides, are not practical or desirable for such wide-ranging stands of weeds, and biological control has become an attractive strategy for control of pest weeds.

Plants

It will work on some herbaceous plants if the stem is fibrous and tough enough so the roots pull out before the stem is crushed to the breaking point. Researchers have also determined that a successful introduction is more likely if the new locale is similar in ecology and climate to the area of origin, and if trials are made where population densities of the pest plant are similar to those in the new location.
