Life can become monotonous. We go to work, we come home, we rise next day, and over time this repetition soon can make us feel as though life is a box, rather than the world is your oyster. There is one way to break out, and live life with passion, and in this article, we will take a look at what it is.
A simple look at nature, the birds flying, the rising of the Sun, and the setting of the Sun shows us much simplicity and beauty. However, life can seem grey, especially if you are simply doing the same old things, and never doing anything new and expanding your horizon.
A fundamental of life states that we are either growing or we are dying. And this is true. A look at old people will show that they are more prone to illness, and also those who retire, soon pass. It is not that we have hit a milestone of a wise old age, but rather in not having a new vision. As it says in the Bible - without a vision, people perish. Now, this article is in no way religious, however the statement makes sense.
So, how do we have that vision, that new frontier that we ever so seek, but so few give effort to? It is with goal setting. Before the monotony, going off into a place of seclusion gives us new thought, and new things to achieve. This seclusion does not have to be seclusion away from others, it can be on vacation, it can be to a park, forest, etc.
The point is to get your mind on what you want and don't want. Goals are simply amazing, especially when they are goals for what we have never achieved before. If you have a worthy ideal, that will take some effort to achieve, you can be sure that it will remove monotony.
Worthy goals inspire and motivate us to action. And the journey becomes fun, when you are consciously going on a journey that you picked. Most people however, will go through life doing what others want. Luckily in the west we live in much freer countries. We don't have to be the 10th generation doctor or 10th generation farmer; instead you have the option to choose.
Several years ago I was in IT. And it dawned on me that being able to do that was simply amazing. My dad was and is an upholsterer, and wanted me to join him and work for him. I fully could have gone through with that, however, the monotony of such a path was not for me. Without adequate goal setting skills and personal ethic to follow my own path was an important decision or you would not be reading this now!
Life offers many roads, and because of the choice, we can become stuck in making no choice. Setting goals is a fundamental step to seeing the world of opportunity, and taking action on that road that best meets your needs and wants. You live in an abundant world, and boredom is something that can be cured when you act. So, what could you do right now to have a fun day full of excitement and inspiration?
