We start life with high hopes. We all do. However, at the end, only a handful will look upon there lives with contentment. So few realize an amazing life, because of feelings of limitedness.
If we look at elephants used by people, we will see a fundamental of how we can feel limited in an unlimited world. An elephant when a baby will be tied to a pole. When the elephant grows into a big elephant, the owners will simply tie the elephant to the pole. The elephant never moves from that pole, even though it very easily could pull out a tree!
We humans are no different. Complete this sentence: we are creatures of. If you said habit, you're absolutely right! We are creatures of habit, and this habit can limit us. Now successful habits are great, however, when people have a problem in an area of there lives, and then there is a need for a successful habit.
We all have problems, that is life - life is growth. And we need to constantly grow. We can only grow when we find failure, because success teaches us so few lessons. But, if lessons from failure are not learned, then it is likely that we will have to go through that problem again and again until we learn!
So what has the importance of setting goals got to do with the problems in life? People major in minor things in life. We will spend so much time choosing what to watch on TV or learn all of the programs, but we will never get into the program of our lives.
We will watch TV, and get preconceived ideas about how life should be. Suddenly we find that a rich and poor mentality forms. We find an advert for an iPod, and now we feel lack. The iPod is on TV, and we don't have it.
Stop! Now the importance of setting goals in life becomes apparent. We get away from the TV for 5 minutes, and can take a breather. Suddenly we can think of what we want and start plotting a direction.
Once there was a cave, and in that cave many people were. When suddenly one realized. And when that person did, realized he was shackled. Through a gap he could see the world with all the greenery. And when he did, he looked for ways to unshackle himself. He found a way, and went out, and found a wonderful life.
