The Seventh Sense: A Breakthrough In Human Technology
Deborah Battersby
If you took the time to read through all those manuals, how much additional benefit would you gain? Probably quite a lot!
I'm just like you. Heck, for the first 6 months after purchasing my cell phone, I didn't even know it had a voice activated dialing feature. I could have kept two hands on the wheel if I'd known how to say "call home" rather than trying to dial while driving.
Your Internal Guidance System
Amazingly, the human body also comes equipped with some features that we know nothing about! And there's one especially fantastic feature that we should all take the time to learn about and even study the manual!
This feature comes standard - factory equipped - with every human! It's an Internal Guidance System, a Seventh Sense, which functions very much like the Global Positioning System in your car. And just like a GPS, after you learn how to use it, you'll wonder how you ever survived without it.
One Purpose Only: Your Wellbeing
Your Internal Guidance System or IGS has one purpose and one purpose only: your wellbeing. Without you even being aware of it, it is always trying to move you toward what you value the most or that which is going to take the best care of you in any present moment.
You may be surprised to learn that your every emotion comes with the intent of directing you toward your true desire and your highest wellbeing. Even emotions such as anger, frustration, disappointment, depression, jealousy, envy, regret or hostility have an intended benefit.
As humans, we have decided that these types of feelings are negative. In reality, that's not the case at all. Every single thing that we experience is meant to serve us and direct or move us toward our wellbeing much like a GPS system.
Our Human Reaction: Fight or Flight
When these negative emotions arise and attempt to guide us to our heart's desire, one of our most basic human instincts arises: fight or flight. In order to avoid pain and move toward pleasure, we either decide to fight those painful or uncomfortable emotions or we suppress, repress or deny them.
If we decide to flee, we often do that through avoidance, procrastination or distraction. Whenever we're uncomfortable with an emotion, we seek out something - anything - that will immediately change our emotional state. That can be coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs.
Or it could be a behavior of some sort such as eating or biting your nails. These behavioral addictions comfort us because they move us away from the emotions we have labeled painful and destructive.
Punch In Your Destination and Enjoy the Ride
The Global Positioning Satellite systems in our cars are truly amazing. All we have to do is identify where we are and where we want to go. The satellite then sends messages to the unit in your car telling you the specific turns and distances you need to travel to reach your destination.
Your Internal Guidance System or Seventh Sense works in a similar way, only the signals you receive are your emotions. The emotions are a response to your perception of where you are. Is this location (situation, circumstance or environment) friendly or not?
This assessment is made unconsciously and almost instantly, moment by moment and the feeling or emotion that will move you in the direction you need to go is what shows up.
This system, Your Seventh Sense operates at a wholly intuitive, unconscious level and is intimately aware of what your heart, soul, and mind truly want and need. Its number one priority is your survival.
After your survival is ensured it moves you to the growth phase necessary to fulfill your greater good and heart's desire.
Once we understand the signals from our Internal Guidance System, and recognize that they are there to point us to our destination, it becomes much easier to follow those directions, avoid distractions and reach the greater well being intended for each of us.
