Why Your Business Must Have An Accountability Structure
Always Thinking Creatively
One thing I want to recommend to anyone reading, is develop some type of accountability structure. I know you’ve all heard it before. Get accountability partners, get a mastermind group. Make sure they are helping you implement. If they’re not helping you implement and not keeping you to your word, it’s not an accountability structure.
I’ll tell you one thing that absolutely kicked me in the butt when it came to accountability, was when I hired my first employees. As soon as he came on board, oh my goodness. I had to get so much more done because not only were we going over things that I had to prepare, but so did he. But I also had to plan out what I needed him to complete in the upcoming week. We had to plan what projects we wanted to complete by a certain time, and so forth. That has absolutely kicked me in the rear.
You think employees cost you money, My employees are actually making me a lot of money because my productivity has doubled. It’s amazing what we’re getting done now.
For me, my employees are kicking me in the rear. But also, I have formed an implementation team. There’s a group of us who, it’s a small group, but we help support one another implement the ideas, the strategies, and the information that we are currently consuming. We re-teach it to each other. Re-teaching information is very important and it’s very helpful because it cements it in on not only you, but it helps teach them, and now you have to almost raise your game, if you will, in terms of understanding what you’ve just read or what you’ve just listened to.
Once you understand it a lot better, you’re able to implement it a lot quicker, faster, and easier.
I’m going to give you another small example just to illustrate how important having someone keeping you accountable is.
One of the people in my accountability structure is Alex Mandossian. He saw me struggling, bouncing from idea to idea and project to project. He said to me “Stu, the reason you’re not making money is because you’re not going after the low-hanging fruit."
I said, “What the heck are you talking about?"
He said, “There’s money sitting right in front of you, if you would just finish and complete these projects."
He was right. Man, all I did was just listen to him, completed those projects, and one project generated over $11,000 within an eight-week period. It was a good eight-week period. The best eight-week period of my life. I couldn’t believe it. It was because I finally went after the low-hanging fruit and implemented.
Did I know I should probably be doing this? Yes! But it took someone keeping me accountable to make sure that I actually followed through and began to focus on the low hanging fruit.
So the main less for today then develop an accountability structure and you will see your productivity and profits soar. Remember though, if the group is not helping you IMPLEMENT, they are not an accountability structure!
Thank you for reading. I appreciate every one of you.
