Setting and achieving goals is a simple process. Think of an 'a' point, and a 'b' point. Now you are at a, and you want to get to b. Getting there is going to need the right ingredients.

The first step to setting and achieving goals is your mindset. Your mindset is a key factor in what will happen. The problem is that we are usually our worst enemies. We have thoughts such as 'I could never achieve that', 'what will others think', etc. And this puts a block in our way.

Get out the way, and then setting and achieving goals will be much easier. If you consider yourself a missile with a target, how did you get that goal? If we take this in perspective, then we can think of ourselves as being the instrument that has to achieve the goal. When you can get out of the way, and simply take the actions, then you will be setting and achieving goals in an easy manor. In fact it will be as simple as A, B, C.

Next we have another problem, and this problem seems to effect almost all people. So many people want to get rich, get famous, become an athlete, etc. Why do so few achieve? After all, we all start with high hopes, and hear many say we have potential. But, for most, this potential is like a car with the hand brake on. It just won't go!

The answer is importance. The pay at the end of the week or the end of the month is important. So, we go to work and never try living that life we dreamed of. The dreams become daydreams, and no good memories are born from them.

Breaking out of this is getting clear on what you want. Setting and achieving goals comes down to you. You must find what gets you excited about what you seek. Many seek symbols, they want to get rich, they want to do this and that. But, these are all symbols, and symbols don't really hold much value to us.

If you consider wanting something so bad, perhaps when you was a young child. You will find that almost always, the Christmas gifts you received and always wanted, soon was not what you wanted.

Understanding why you want something is a big key, because it gives you the motivation to act. A person who needs to get money to keep a house is more apt to try than someone who wants a mansion or palace! The person seeking things that are not based on what they want, and why they want it, often will find that they are forgotten.

Setting and achieving goals can seem a hard process after reading all this. But, setting and achieving goals need not be hard. With a simple process of understanding what you want, and why you want it, you have much more chance of achieving that.
