There are three things to remember when you market online. You need an expanding market that wants what you have to offer. Second, you have to ensure that your product or the service you are offering will benefit them in some way and/or solve some problem they have. And most important, have a powerful marketing premise in a killer sales page that will close your sale.
If you neglect to take the actions needed to make a great sales page, you will end up with little or no sales. You can have a great product, but it won't sell! Here are some tips to get you started:
1. Learn from the greats in the business. Go to the websites of the master copywriters and check out what they have for a sales page. Just type 'copywriters' into Google and check out the first 10 that come up. You can get some ideas, but don't steal their copy or you'll get in trouble.
2. Understand the 3 P's of Copywriting
a. Make it personal
b. Make it precise and streamlined
c. Make it persuasive
3. Fix your layout for your product or service. You can use many but your sales page should be in the following three parts. a. Emphasize the problem and bring this to your reader's attention.
b. Show the benefits and how your product or service is going to solve their problems.
c. At the end you will have the call for action and the guarantee, etc.
4. Your headlines will attract the reader and make them want to keep reading, so first do the main headlines, then the sub headlines, and finally fill in all the details. All headlines must draw the reader in.
5. If your guarantee is fully 'iron clad,' your buyer will trust you and be more tempted to buy from you than elsewhere.
Take some time, learn the art of copywriting as you will need all the info you can get. Sometimes just changing a few words can make your copy more powerful and increase your sales. Try some experimenting.
Split testing: This is a very necessary part of getting your sales copy to produce the highest sales conversions. Here are some steps to do this:
1. Make 2 sales pages for the same product or service
2. Make them slightly different
3. Track which ones gets the most traffic.
4. Get traffic driven to both of the pages.
5. Monitor and note which one is bringing in the sales.
6. Use the one with the highest sales conversion
Avoid these mistakes:
1. Avoid hype.
2. Don't have a poor presentation.
3. Using features instead of benefits
Okay, there are some pointers to help you. Think as a buyer so you can take the viewpoint of your customer. If you aren't convinced to buy your product, it won't work for others.
