Motorola RAZR Maxx V6: Same Old Same Old
Wyatt
For the consumers who have been fans of the slim clamshell phones, it didn't matter what it can do. As long as they look good and fit in your pocket that'll be enough. Unfortunately the hype went down after other mobile companies offered sleek models packed with features.
Motorola took notice and created and added a new model to the RAZR series. The result is Motorola RAZR maxx V6.
The features
Motorola RAZR maxx V6 boasts of the slim clamshell design that its predecessors are known for. The bodywork is a combination of plastic and meal with flat keypad.
The phone has a wide display with vivid colors. It displays 240 X 320 pixels on the internal and 120 x 160 pixels on the external screen. The alphanumeric keys have slightly lifted borders. This makes the dead flat keypad tactile for use. There are also touch sensitive buttons on the external display for the media player.
It's a quad-band phone with HSDPA, GPRS, and EDGE. Other key features are microSD memory card slot, and bluetooth A2DP. There are two cameras: a two mega pixel camera with flash and a secondary VGS camera for video calls.
The interface is pretty much the same with other RAZR models. It has a convenient application called the Media Finder. It serves as a gallery for all your media files.
Cons
Yes it is an improvement compared to the previous Motorola RZR phones. Unfortunately it pretty much offers features which are basic for other phones. The design may give it a boost as a stylish HSDPA handset but the features are nothing new. Stereo bluetoooth is common nowadays that goes hand in hand with GPRS and EDGE. In other phones all of those come in with a 3 or 5 megapixel camera.
The embedded memory is only 50 MB. The interface is typical like any other Motorola RAZR phone. It does not have any FM radio. The touch sensitive keys on the external display are difficult to use.
Over all Motorola RAZR maxx V6 is a stylish HSDPA phone. If you're looking for a fresh alternative for HSDPA handsets this may be the phone for you.
