The Top 7 Misunderstandings About Network Marketing

Over the next few minutes I'm going to reveal the top 7 misunderstandings people have when it comes to network marketing and outline why many of the worlds top business speakers are now calling this an incredible industry for anyone to achieve their financial dreams.
#1 - It is not an Investment Program!
Just because you buy into a business opportunity, it will forever be a business "opportunity" and not a business if you sit and do nothing. Starting a network marketing business isn't like buying a stock or putting money in a fixed interest savings account. The money doesn't grow by you becoming a distributor and the more you invest doesn't mean you will necessarily earn more. There is only one way to make money with any type of business and that is by actively working the business and taking the necessary steps to make that business grow.
#2 - It is not a get rich quick scheme!
While it is true that some people make it big in a short amount of time, 90% of the people who are making a serious income did so in a time frame of 1 to 5 years. No matter what network marketing company you decide to join you must give yourself ample time before you quit, jump to another opportunity or give up.
#3 - It is not just about selling and recruiting!
Many people say they couldn't be successful in Network Marketing because they aren't sales people. The truth is that about 75 percent of people who get started with network marketing have absolutely no sales experience. Some of the biggest money earners in the industry started out with no sales experience. The truth is that this industry is about learning and developing people skills, building relationships, and developing yourself as a person. Just remember that there are salesman all across the nation that can't rub two nickels together and average network marketers who are making big money.
#4 - It isn't about being first!
A legitimate network marketing company offers the same opportunity of prosperity for all that get involved, regardless of when they come in or who they come in after. If you come into someone's down line you can easily outwork them and make more money than they do. Don't buy into the garbage that says you can only make money if you get in first.
#5 - It is not a 9-5 JOB!
In a 9-5 job, some people get away without doing any work and they can still get their salary (I'm sure you might no a few of those people at your job). With Network Marketing it's very that what you GIVE is what you GET.
#6 - It is not a 100 Meter Dash!
It is a marathon. Business builders must pace themselves over a period of time. Going "all out" to the point of exhaustion is just bad because it is the quality of the work that counts, not the quantity.
#7 - It is not some Weird Cult or Religion!
Network Marketing is about building relationships, gaining education, spreading great products, and increasing wealth. One of the greatest things about this industry is the sense of community, and having someone to turn to for advice or help. Don't mistake this community as something it isn't though. Network marketing is a business and the goal of all businesses is to make money.
In closing...
I hope I've cleared up a few things about an amazing industry. It is one of the few businesses that a person can start regardless of age, gender, experience, or social status. With a little hard work, a positive attitude, and the right network marketing opportunity anyone can turn themselves into a network marketing success story within 1 to 5 years.
