The software will make an image from the data from the unreadable sectors. A multipurpose utility like a computer can be used to perform this kind of task. The image file would then be copied in the hard disk. Another blank disk will be inserted in the ROM drive and the image file will be rewritten on the disk. This would make an exact copy of the scratched DVD.
