Rehab hospitals
Many hospitals have a separate wing to treat patients affected by drugs and alcohol. This program is better known as Drug Rehab (hospital based) because the hospital takes care of both the medicinal and the counseling part of the patient's treatment. It is run under private control within the boundary of a general hospital.
It is mostly meant for those patients who require regular supervision and have to be kept under strict control. The rehab hospitals are well equipped with the best nursing facilities. If the addiction specialist suggests admitting the drug patient to get admitted in the rehab hospital, you must not delay in taking the right action.
Basic detox programs
The primary level treatment meant for the drug addicts and the alcoholics is the detox program that is an integral part of the drug rehab programs. This treatment is provided both in the rehab hospitals and the exclusive rehab centers with stand free facility.
The patient is given the basic medicinal support to allow him/her to leave drugs step by step. But detox is not sufficient in many cases. If the drug addict is in the preliminary step of addiction then the guy might be able to over come the situation through detox. Otherwise long-term treatment, guidance and psychological boosting are required along with medicinal support.
Long-term programs
Long-term rehab programs are typically residential and designed in such a manner that a patient can be kept for a longer duration till cure. These are not just based on medicinal supervision and psychiatric treatment but an overall involvement of the patient in various activities to bring him back to real state of living. Rehabilitation in true sense is exercised through these programs.
