Dealing With The Christmas Rush
Jim Brown
Christmas is a special time of the year when people have a special smile plastered on their faces. For all we know that smile could mean lots of things. It could mean excitement on knowing what gifts a person could be getting. It could also mean few days away from the hustle and bustle of office work. But for extremely busy people who can't even find a second to smile, Christmas time is also known as the season for last-minute shopping.
Now that could get tricky. But you don't have to worry because reading on will help you get a hold of yourself and think out of the box even during the last minute and be in full control down to the tiniest detail.
1. The minute you step into the mall, you will definitely be confused. With all the possible gifts, you could practically just grab and go. But no, you won't be doing that. Not if you plan to get a friend a nice t-shirt for Christmas. First and foremost, know his or her exact size and measurements. Else, give him or her a t-shirt that is in free size, which means one size fits all. It is also wise if you opt for accessories instead. But then again, some accessories like bracelets come in different sizes.
2. If your friend has a sweet-tooth, then giving him or her a basket of goodies is completely reasonable. Though it is quite obvious, last-minute Christmas shopping just can't give you enough time to think of something else. Just do not forget to check for the date of expiration.
3. If you are shopping for a present for an officemate that you barely know, for instance you picked her name during the drawing of lots for the office kris kringle, and then you might as well choose safe gift ideas. By safe gift ideas, it means that the gift should not have an identity whatsoever in the sense that you are not trying too hard on choosing the gift judging by the recipient's personality. You could go wrong. Safe choices that you could make are going for office supplies, kitchen utensils and some towels or bathroom essentials instead.
4. For intimate friends, home decorations are beautiful and artsy gifts. At least you can see those adornments whenever you happen to visit their house. Factors that you have to double check on are the size of the sculpture or painting, the design should match the theme of the house and the color should likewise compliment the colors around the house. If the recipient has kids, then the more you should think twice about getting huge porcelain vases or fragile figurines.
5. Lastly, head over to a trusted gift wrapping shop. Remember, you have no time to explore. So you better go straight there. Most shops have ready-made boxes wherein you will just put the gift item inside. Some have made designs from which you could choose. Still some offer discounts since it is the season to be jolly.
